Stephen Rusher joined Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank in 2005 and currently focuses on retail landlord and tenant representation in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. He also has a distinct knowledge of the rapidly growing East Contra Costa County, where he publishes a successful newsletter on the commercial real estate market.
Stephen has developed a strong reputation for understanding his client’s long term real estate needs and developing strategies to achieve those goals. He has successfully represented his clients in multiple aspects of retail leasing, including CBD retail leasing, ground-up shopping center development, and 2nd generation leasing. Prior to joining the Walnut Creek team, Stephen handled many different aspects of commercial real estate for Equity Commercial Properties Group/Sperry Van Ness in Pleasanton. His responsibilities included capital placement for clients in 1031 exchange and the direct management of 100,000 SF of commercial property.
Stephen is a native of Contra Costa County, growing up in the town of Orinda, where he played soccer and lacrosse. He graduated from UC-Santa Barbara with a degree in Political Science. Stephen married a fellow Gaucho and they live happily in Lafayette.
