John Austin joined Cornish & Carey in April of 2006. He is the senior retail agent in the Sacramento/Roseville retail division. John has 22 years of experience in retail brokerage and development. His efforts have resulted in more than 800 transactions and the development of 7 major shopping centers in Northern California. Prior to joining Cornish & Carey, John was with CBRE. During his tenure with CBRE, John was awarded the national Retail Corporate Service Award for his work as the national manager for the Kmart account. From 1994 through 2001, John established and managed a national team of 84 brokers, covering 26 states. John is currently representing Sport Chalet, a Southern California based 30 store sporting goods chain (42,000 square feet) with three locations now open and plans for four more. In addition, John represents JoAnn Fabrics in the Sacramento Valley. John is also representing the developers of three major shopping centers in the Central Valley: Blue Oaks Town Center, a 600,000 square foot power center in Rocklin, CA; Red Maple Village, a 120,000 square foot Raley’s anchored shopping center in Tracy, CA; and The Plaza, a 75,000 square foot specialty center in Auburn, CA.
