Professional Experience  

A member of the Cornish & Carey retail team since June of 2005, Damon has a unique diversification of real estate experience and understanding. Since 1995 he has been an integral part of his family’s commercial property management and construction companies, where he developed a strong working knowledge of construction and facilities management; tenant and labor relations; and contract negotiations.  While pursuing his Business & Marketing degree, Damon interned with Keenan/Lovewell Ventures of Palo Alto where he participated in project conception, architectural planning and development. 

Since joining C&C he has completed multiple high profile transactions for numerous Fortune 500 companies, most notably as exclusive representative for Safeway, Lowe’s Home Improvement, FedEx Kinko’s, Jenny Craig (a Nestle subsidiary) and Walgreen’s.  Damon has received and currently holds Costar Group’s “Power Broker” award for his high career and annual transaction volume.

A lifetime of personal involvement with real estate development, specifically in Northern California, has provided Damon with invaluable experience, understanding and a strong working knowledge of all aspects of development, including marketing, site selection, site planning and architectural design, entitlements and tenant mix.  A partial list of the developer/landlord clients Damon has completed transaction for include: Sand Hill Property Co., Dollinger Properties, Hunter Properties, SPI Holdings, Garaventa Properties, Essex Property Trust, Regency and The Carlyle Group.

Experience in business management, real estate development and competitive athletics has provided Damon with sound interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a respected professional presence; and his lifelong familiarity with northern California gives him a unique understanding of both merchant and consumer needs within its complex retail real estate markets.

Education / Personal

Raised in Menlo Park, California, Damon attended Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, and completed his collegiate studies at Wartburg College in Iowa, where he was the catcher for their nationally ranked, Division Champion baseball team.  He is an avid outdoorsman and equestrian and spends much of his free time skiing, skydiving, golfing, backpacking the high country, or riding the trails.
